Signs
Do you believe in signs? Not the movie Signs kind of signs but those events and indicators that seem to point to a particular event. A different direction. Superstitions are kind of signs. Even if you roll your eyes and vehemently deny you don’t pay attention to such things, you probably know a black cat crossing your path portends bad luck.
Why on this very alarming day in US history do signs get the focus of this post? Because there are so many signs today that they can’t go unnoticed. The day the sexual assaulter gets sworn in, the south is freezing over. Beaumont, Texas, where humidity and hurricanes are more likely to occur, is bracing for snow. 3 inches. Sunny Florida’s flamingos will need to skate; ice is predicted. The former leader of Planned Parenthood, lovely Cecile Richards, has passed away. The flag over the US Capital should be flown at half-staff in memory of former President Jimmy Carter, a true leader and humanitarian. Yet there are those who are so dedicated to insanity they want to insult the flag, the tradition, and the man himself by declaring their state and their inaugurations are exempt. Insult piles on insult as signs reveal we must change course.
On MLK Day, we commit democratic suicide by allowing this liar and thief to desecrate our traditions. And flaunt our laws. A sign we need to stand strong for the right things and refuse to go along with insanity and evil.
Do you not see and feel it? The signs have revealed themselves. The country of Lady Liberty is falling into darkness and worse. Let’s shine light on her.
